The seven story masonry building built in 1910's consists of one basement, one ground floor, 4 standard floors and an attic. Original structural system consists of natural stone masonry walls of 40 to 80 cm varying thicknesses at the basement. Upper floors are built from unreinforced clay brick masonry. All slabs are vault floors made with I beams and bricks. Foundations are stone masonry walls.

Seismic retrofitting work has been carried out for the building in order to reinforce the structure aganist a possible earthquake meeting the requirements of the new seismic code. Total construction area of the building is 2480 m². The building is retrofitted by means of steel plate shear walls designed at confined spaces of the building namely the elevator openings and the small court openings located at two sides.
